Hicham Belmaachi is the DP World Chief Operating officer of the Special economic Zone Khorgos in Kazakhstan – a 600 hectare integrated transport, logistics and industrial hub linking the Far East, CIS countries and Europe. After 10 years of managing major global trade routes in the Shipping Industry for CMA CGM, Mr. Belmaachi gained valuable and transferrable skills applicable to be the COO of the SEZ Khorgos, part of the multibillion dollar One Belt One Road project re-launching the ancient Silk Road. Having a career strategically based in both the Far East and Europe, in 4 countries on 3 continents, he has developed an ability to comprehend, communicate and execute effective results beyond given targets despite any environmental or communication challenges. Mr. Belmaachi current mission is to make Khorgos the most dynamic logistics and industrial hub on the Silk Road.

Mr. Belmaachi has a Master’s of Science in Management from Kedge Business School.
