The Bank is owned by 66 countries from five continents, as well as the European Union and the European Investment Bank. The EBRD’s strategic plan for the countries where it invests for the period 2016-18 has three priorities: strengthening economic resilience, addressing global challenges and supporting regional integration. To date, the EBRD has invested €7.3 billion in various sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy with a focus on non-oil and gas sectors, where it is the largest institutional investor. Kazakhstan became the second largest EBRD market in 2016 with over €1.05 billion in annual investment.
